The ultimate creative network where artists are free to display their work.

Strengths - free, a lot of site traffic, likely to get noticed.
Weaknesses - not personalised to you, competition within the site.
Opportunities - free exposure, interlinking with other creatives, talking with professionals.
Threats - If site goes down then all your work goes down with it.


2. Personal Webpage
Free to be customised, the webpage is the most creatively open promotion method.


Strengths - Open to own creativity, looks professional.
Weaknesses - Has to be paid for, not a great tool for exposure.
Opportunities - Personal online presence & domain name, totally unique, establish yourself as a professional.
Threats - A difficult domain name to remember.


3. LinkedIn
Free to join and creates networks with fellow creatives.
Strengths - Excellent potential for collaboration, clients can find you easily.
Weaknesses - Have to be registered to gain access to full profile.
Opportunities - Networking, Collaborations
Threats - Hacking potential, If site goes down then all your work goes down with it.


4. AdWeek
Similar to Behance, have to be accepted to showcase work.

Strengths - If you're on there you're very established - will attract work.
Weaknesses - Competition within the site to stand out.
Opportunities - Easy networking, can be discovered by other creatives for collaboration.
Threats - If site goes down then all your work goes down with it.



5. Motion Graphics
A digital portfolio could be the answer if motion graphics is the designer's line of work.

Strengths - If pulled off well can be extremely impressive and unique.
Weaknesses - Have to have access to computer and internet.
Opportunities - Excellent promotion method for digital designers.
Threats - Slow computer/internet connection can effect their perception of the graphics - might think it's down to you.



6. In-depth Company Websites
For the well established companies to showcase their skills within their online presence.

Strengths - Incredibly slick and high end - will attract established clients willing to pay a lot of money.
Weaknesses - Could have an adverse effect by looking too expensive, the technology could be expensive also, have to be in a company to execute properly.
Opportunities - Big jobs worth a lot of money, can showcase web design skills.
Threats - Customer might think their job is too small, slow computers could hinder the graphics.



7. Etsy
Handmade crafts website - selling prints.

Strengths - Can display work and make money, easy to link within other promotional sites i.e. behance
Weaknesses - Very specialist, site may not get as many views as other methods.
Opportunities - Profit, establishment as a craftsman.
Threats - Running out of stock, becoming disorganised with shipping.



8. Big Cartel
Similar to Etsy but with a bigger scope for media (doesn't have to be hand-crafted)

Strengths - Can display work and make money, easy to link within other promotional sites i.e. behance
Weaknesses - Might not be seen as often as other methods.
Opportunities - Profit, a place to sell items, funding the third year.
Threats - Running out of stock, becoming disorganised with shipping.



9. Facebook
With almost 1 billion users, great chance to create networking.

Strengths - So many users your page has potential to be seen by many people.
Weaknesses - Not a creative site, might not attract attention.
Opportunities - Links to Etsy/Big Cartel for sales.
Threats - Social delinquents ruining the image of your page, open to everyone to abuse.



10. Twitter
Similar to facebook, but allows for quicker updates and more creative-based.

Strengths - More creatives use Twitter than Facebook, with a similar audience size.
Weaknesses - Not as blatantly obvious where the images are than a website.
Opportunities - Links to specialised websites & online shops, quick means of promotion on a vast scale.
Threats - Spamming could annoy people, creating a negative vibe.
